Morton Brilliant's Bio:
Morton Brilliant is an attorney with over 15 years of experience as a political and communications strategist in a variety of roles, including campaign manager, state party executive director and communications director to two governors. He is currently a senior executive at one of the nation's leading Democratic strategic and targeted communications firms, working with local and national clients including Obama for America, party committees and members of Congress. In 2012, he served as lead direct mail strategist to Obama for America's Colorado campaign, conceiving and executing new research techniques to improve the targeting of mail and the impact of messaging. In 2011 and 2012, he served as a lead consultant to the Wisconsin State Senate caucus, helping to retake a Democratic majority during two recall elections and crafting communications strategies for progressive groups in North Carolina to defeat Tea Party backed candidates in off-year elections. In 2010's challenging election environment, he helped the Maryland State Senate caucus defend every single vulnerable incumbent, while picking up two Republican seats in deeply red districts. In 2008, he served as a targeted communications strategist to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's (DCCC) independent expenditure. He also worked on four Congressional races and picked up legislative seats in red states, including Kentucky, Louisiana and North Carolina. In South Carolina, Morton was lead consultant to the only Democratic legislative race to successfully unseat a Republican incumbent. Morton previously served as Communications Director for Gregoire for Governor, one of the nation's top-targeted gubernatorial races and Deputy Campaign Manager of the Hodges for Governor campaign. He went on to serve Governor Hodges as his Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. Morton graduated with high honors from Brandeis and earned a J.D. with honors at George Washington.
